Founded by former professional basketball player and streetball legend Joel Haywood, aka King Handles, in Vancouver, BC (Canada). During his journey, King Handles continually noticed a lack of ball handling ability, within the local youth basketball scene. He felt the need to improve this through sharing his knowledge on an elite training level. By doing so, it simultaneously allows Joel an opportunity to give back to his local community.

By combining certain streetball techniques with traditional organized basketball skills, it greatly assists in accelerating a child's basketball development. Among the basketball skillsets and life lessons taught, academy participants can expect to learn how to beat defenders off the dribble, add unique moves to their offensive repertoire and gain a unique perspective when it comes to anticipating and reading plays, before they develop.
